Seaquist Closures
has developed a new bi-material flip-top closure « the Original Sport
Cap », a reminder that Seaquist was the first to introduce a flip-top
sport closure to the beverage market.
The outer part in PP has an active hinge which can open to 180° to allow easy drinking. The comfortable mouthpiece in PE has excellent organoleptic qualities and imparts no odour or taste to the product.
The double sealing system between lid and spout guarantees a perfect seal, yet remains easy to open, especially for children. The closure has two effective tamper-evidence systems, between lid and body of the closure and between closure to bottle.
The combination of PP and PE means that the qualities of both materials can be exploited to their best. PP provides high transparency for the outer part, and has more spring which is necessary for the hinge to work effectively. PE has good sealing and organoleptic qualities and is used for the mouthpiece ; the part in contact with the product.
Two components allow a multitude of highly attractive, eye-catching colour combinations, the successful alliance of aesthetics and functionality.
The 28mm version is production ready and currently available through Blackhawk Molding in Addison, IL. Blackhawk & Seaquist Closures have formed an exclusive agreement to service the bottled water market in
North
America
.
The 28mm version will be followed by a 26.7mm triple lead version for North America. Europe will follow with 30 and 38mm neck finishes and all versions will have SimpliSqueeze® as an option for optimal flow control.
